27 Adentro
This is hands down one of the best and cutest restaurants I found in Antigua! 27 Adentro has a rooftop which is where I recommend you ask to be seated. From the rooftop you can see Fuego erupting all day and night. The menu is a mix of both Guatemalan and international cuisine. Service is very attentive and the everyone is so nice! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Cafe Sky Bar
Cafe Sky Bar is an Antigua classic! Whether you go for a snack, evening cocktail or dinner! Try and sit on the terrace level and enjoy a front row seat to the volcano! Bring a scarf or jacket as it gets chilly even in the summer.
ULEW
I absolutely loved ULEW so much that I came here twice! This is hands down one of the best bars in Antigua! In fact, this speakeasy even made it to the 50 Best Discovery list. What I love most about this bar is that there is no menu! You just tell the bartender your flavor profile and they will make you a unique cocktail! I also loved the way they served their cocktails. The little trays and coasters were really one of a kind. ULEW is actually located inside the Antigua Brewing Company. Find the English telephone booth and the bar is inside this!
Las Tres Amigas
Another Antigua classic for casual international food like burgers, pizza, tacos, sandwiches and barbecue. They also have craft beer and the prices are quite reasonable.
Tartines
If you are looking for a break from Latin food, then this French restaurant may just hit the spot! Ask for a table upstairs on their small terrace as it overlooks ruins and volcanoes Acatenango and Fuego. The menu has authentic French items. I came here for lunch and had a croque madame and glass of wine while enjoying Fuego erupt!
Los Moros
Located inside the absolutely beautiful Porta Hotel Antigua, Los Moros is currently the #1 spot for best restaurants in Antigua on TripAdvisor! The service here is top notch and the restaurant itself is located facing the garden and pool of the hotel with good views of the volcano. Los Moros is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is a good restaurant to visit if you are especially looking to eat traditional Guatemalan food.
El Criollo
At first I wasn’t sure if I was in the right place but after walking in, I found myself in a beautiful and spacious courtyard with the restaurant on one end. El Criollo serves traditional Guatemalan food and delicious steaks cooked to perfection. The staff here is wonderful and service is quick. It’s a good spot if you are looking for a quiet place for dinner with really good authentic Guatemalan food!
Por Qué No? Cafe
I don’t think you will run into a best restaurants in Antigua list without seeing Por Qué No? Cafe. This vibrant cafe serves all kinds of cuisine and although they have a limited menu, the food is simply top notch! Definitely make a reservation ahead of time as they are packed all the time! People keep coming back to Por Qué No? Cafe because in addition to the food, the service and atmosphere is also worthy of high praise.
Madre Tierra
A popular restaurant for breakfast or any meal really! Madra Tierra is well known for its Mexican flavors made straight at its outdoor parilla (grill). You can’t go wrong with the asado (barbecue) or the tacos.
Fridas
This well rated restaurant is ideal if you are looking for good cocktails and Mexican food. Their tacos are absolutely delicious and they are located right near the Arch.
Casa Escobar
This elegant steakhouse offers a fine dining experience with excellent service. Casa Escobar is definitely the place to go if you are looking to have a nice quiet or romantic evening. The steaks are simply divine and you will definitely have a memorable experience here.
Wisdom Cocktail Bar
This cocktail bar is right near the Arch but can be a little hard to find because it’s a speakeasy! When I visited the outside looked like a wig shop! You need to solve a puzzle to get it which is super fun! Once you make it through the door, you will find yourself at a sophisticated cocktail bar with a very unique cocktail menu. They also have a food menu as well!
Antigua Brewing Company
This brewery has an epic rooftop with good views of the volcanoes. You can either sit at the rooftop or inside in the brewery section. They have a good brewery type food menu consisting of burgers, nachos, tacos etc and they also do flights of beer if you want to taste different kinds they have on offer.
