Best Restaurants and Bars in Positano with a View

by shortgirlontour

The crown jewel of the Amalfi Coast, Positano has stunning vistas where ever you look! From colorful buildings to cliff side views and sunsets that will take your breath away, Positano will definitely leave you wanting to come back for more. Positano is home to several highly rated restaurants and bars, including Michelin Star restaurants. This post will cover the best restaurants and bars in Positano with a view.

As I mentioned before, Positano has many amazing restaurants and bars and some that are even Michelin Star. The focus of this post however, are restaurants and bars with the best views in Positano, especially those quintessential Positano views or the views you think of when you hear the word Positano.

Given that these restaurants and bars have the best views in Positano, you should definitely make a reservation ahead of time.

Terrazza Cele

Starting off with a personal favorite! Terrazza Cele! Located at the beautiful Hotel Marincanto, this restaurant overlooks the beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea. Just below the restaurant is an outdoor patio with one of the best views of all of Positano! Imagine seeing the beach, the church, the cliffs and the sunset all in one view!

The restaurant itself is also very beautiful. Bougainvillea entwined columns stretch out to the sky while the colorful turquoise blue seating adds to the romantic setting.

The restaurant offers two tasting menus or à la carte but I highly recommend trying a tasting menu. It was absolutely incredible. The service was amazing too, especially from Salvatore!

Il Tridente

Il Tridente is located at at hotel Poseidon. I stayed at this hotel and loved everything about it and the views from this restaurant are so beautiful! Il Tridente is open for lunch and dinner, however every morning, breakfast is served at this same location! The bougainvillea entwined white wrought iron canopy not only frames the view but also creates a very romantic atmosphere. It offers a slightly different but equally beautiful view of the front of the church and all the colorful houses that cling on to the edge of the cliffs of Positano.

As I mentioned, the restaurant is opened for either lunch or dinner and the bar is open in the evenings until late night. I had dinner here and enjoyed it! I ordered two appetizers instead of a main and a dessert. Il Tridente is one of the most highly rated and spoken about restaurants in Positano. However, I wasn’t sure if it lived up to this fame. Now, don’t get it wrong! The food was delicious! But, I just wasn’t sure I got the raving reviews. One caveat is that maybe I should have tried the mains and that may have made a difference. This being said, I definitely think you should come here! (also this post is about the views!). If you don’t have a meal, at least come for cocktails (come when there is some light for the views!).

See HERE for reservations! You can just email them directly if you are staying at the hotel. Hotel guests don’t need a reservation for the bar but do need a reservation for the restaurant.

La Sponda

This Michelin Star restaurant is located in the iconic Le Sirenuse hotel. This hotel is constantly ranked as one of the best hotels in the world! La Sponda has both inside and outside seating. The seating inside has a whimsical but romantic feel under candlelight while the outside has perfect views of the church dome, sea and colorful buildings. La Sponda is probably the most expensive restaurant on this list of best restaurants and bars in Positano with a view but it is ideal if you are celebrating something special.

See HERE for reservations. There is a minimum spend for those not staying at the hotel.

Francos

This is one of the most if not THE most famous bar in all of Positano. Francos is a part of the La Sirenuse hotel and is open to the public. There are no reservations and therefore, you will see people lining up well before opening time to get a seat, especially in time for sunset. For some, the views are well worth it but I don’t believe in spending precious vacation time in lines and found an alternative!

Aldo’s

Aldo’s is my alternative for Francos. Also located at Le Sirenuse, Aldo’s is much quieter and with even better views as you are closer to the Dome than at Francos. The best part is that you can make reservations, so you don’t have to wait in line. You can either get dinner here or just only drinks. I highly recommend Aldo’s over Francos, especially if you are not looking to stand in line.

Ristorante Don Giovanni

If you have seen a restaurant with bougainvillea clad columns with the colorful cliff side of Positano, then chances are that you have seen a picture of Ristorante Don Giovanni. This is a great restaurant if you are looking for one with a good view but is still reasonably priced and won’t break the bank. The food comes out fast and Luigi and Augustino provided excellent service! Everyone is very warm and friendly. The food is good too! I really enjoyed their ravioli and tiramisu.

Buca di Bacco

Check out the restaurant and bar at the hotel Buca di Bacco for some really great sea and beach views in Positano. They are probably one of the hotels that is closest to the beach in Positano. You can make a reservation for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Eden Sky Bar

Located at Eden Roc Hotel, this bar offers panoramic views of Positano. Highly recommend coming here during sunset and sipping a cocktail as the sun goes down. Another plus point for Eden Sky are the staff, who are very nice and friendly!

Adamo ed Eva

This restaurant is also located at Eden Roc hotel and offers similar views to Eden Sky Bar. They have really good reviews for their food and service. Ask for a table with a view!

Chez Black

Located right in front of the beach, this is another popular restaurant that gets lots of reviews. I went here during lunch and honestly it was nothing much to write home about. I am including it in this best restaurants and bars in Positano with a view list because I just wanted to call out that you may see this name come up in your research but I would skip it.

Ristorante Bruno

Another popular one for this restaurants and bars with amazing views in Positano list. The reviews here are a bit hit or miss on the food, however, if you are looking for views at a reasonable price, then this restaurant will fit the brief nicely! They have outdoor seating and are very popular during sunset. You should definitely book ahead of time if you are looking for an outdoor seat in the evenings.

Li Galli Bistro

Li Galli Bistro has very similar views to Ristrorante Bruno but actually has better reviews for food. It’s just up the road from Ristorante Bruno and also has outdoor seating. There is a fine dining restaurant with the same name so make sure you check prior to making a booking or mapping it out on Google. The fine dining restaurant also has great views but it’s not the classic Positano views that the bistro offers.

Villa Treville

Villa Treville is located a little further from Positano but still can be reached in about 20 minutes by foot. The Bianca Bar at this hotel has the dreamiest views of Positano from afar. The colorful seating, vine clad canopy, white curtains and mood lighting all add to the romance and beauty of this place. Be warned though that they have an expensive cover charge for outside guests.
