How to Get to the Instagram Photo Spots in Positano and the Amalfi Coast
All the photo spots and views below are from a combination of exploring by foot, taking a boat tour, doing a photo shoot and staying at certain hotels. I will call these out below.
Best Instagram Photo Spots in Positano
Classic Views of Positano
This is one of the best views of Positano with the cliffs, beach and the domed church all is one view. It is also where you can get good sunset views for free. You can walk here and will probably not miss it.

This view is from Caffe Positano where they have outdoor seats. It’s another nice view that captures a lot of Positano’s best features in one picture. I walked here from my hotel.

This spot below is a famous Instagram photo spot in Positano. Look over the railing for an epic view of Positano. I got these shots in the early evening.
I also did a photo shoot in a Fiat 500 and we stopped here for photos.

Ceramic Shops
This ceramic shop is down the road from the first place. Come in the morning for the best views. The sun casts shadows during the day and towards the evening.
There are a ton of ceramic shops in Positano with some really good Instagram photo spots. Here are a few more. You can find these on via Colombo.
Another very famous ceramic shop is Ceramica Assunta. There are several of these in Positano. however, the best Instagram photo spot is on via del Saracino.

Hotels with the Best Views
The next three hotels offer some of the best Instagram photo spots in Positano. I stayed in 2 out of the 3 and had a meal at the 3rd.
Le Sirenuse
Le Sirenuse is constantly ranked as one of the best hotels in the world. Of course these rating are based on a lot of factors including their exceptional service but if I were rating them, I would give them high ratings just for the views! I am going to let these pictures do the talking as to why I have included this hotel on this best Instagram photo spots in Positano list.
Le Sirenuse is not cheap! One way to explore it is to visit one of it’s bars (Francos or Aldo’s) or visit its Michelin Star restaurant La Sponda.
Hotel Poseidon
Hotel Poseidon is another hotel with beautiful views over Positano. Check out their Il Tridente restaurant for lunch or dinner or come sip a cocktail in the evening.
Hotel Marincanto
If Le Sirenuse has some of the most beautiful close up view of Positano, then Hotel Marincanto has some of the best panoramic views of Positano. Come during sunset and check out their Terrazza Cele and lower deck for some epic Instagram photo spots.

Church Views
You will see this Instagram photo spot of the church as you come down or go up the stairs on via Trara Genoino.

Beach Views
The Spiaggia beach in another great Instagram photo spot in Positano. The blue umbrellas and the cliff in the background with all the colorful buildings, definitely add to the beauty of this place.
Another really great beach photo spot is to actually see it from above. The very first Instagram photo spot on this list is actually a perfect spot for this. It’s a mesmerizing sight when all the umbrella are up.
Views from the Coast
There is not one Instagram photo spot but many along the coast near Positano! You can see these views and take pictures either from the ferry or a private boat tour. See the end of this post for more.
Views from the Ferry Dock
This is another good place for an Instagram photo spot in Positano. It offers a nice shot of Positano, very close to how you would see it from the water.
Delicatessen
This little shop with the adjoining staircase makes for a great Instagram photo spot!
Best Instagram and Photo Spots Along the Amalfi Coast
Fruit Stand
Salvatore’s fruit stand is one of the most famous places along the Amalfi Coast. It’s conveniently located next to a view point with a little parking lot.

Amalfi Town
Amalfi Town has multiple Instagram friendly photo spots. The church and fountain right in town are very famous. But climb a bit higher to the cemetery for the best photo views.
Ravello
Ravello sits high above the Amalfi Coast and is Instagram heaven with a ton on photo spots. Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo are two of the places you definitely must explore.

Capri
Capri is an island on the Amalfi Coast with beautiful blue water, unique rock formations and cliff side views, making for some great Instagram photo spots. Don’t miss a boat tour around the island and Anacapri for some of the best spots.

Fiordo di Furore
This bridge is considered one of the most famous spots on the Amalfi Coast and naturally makes for a great Instagram photo spot. You can see it either from a boat or from land. To get here from land, you need to take a bus from one of the Amalfi Coast towns.
Atrani
Atrani is one of the low key towns on the Amalfi Coast. This view is between Atrani and the town of Amalfi.
Praiano
I don’t have exact locations of these Instagram photo spots but saw these during the photo shoot that I did.
Sorrento
Sorrento has some of the best views of Mount Vesuvius!

Ways to See the Best Instagram Photo Spots in Positano
Photoshoot
I did a little photoshoot in Positano in a vintage fiat 500 and it was so much fun! It was with Italy Vintage Tours. They were cheaper than the other provider and very easy to work with. Boat Tours
I did a boat tour in both Positano and Capri.
The Positano one took us along the Amalfi Coast from Positano to Atrani and back. We stopped at several places to swim and snorkel. I cannot recommend this trip more. The name of the company is Valentine’s Boat Rental.

In Capri I did a private boat tour around the Island with Capri Relax Boats and they were also cheaper than the other quotes I got. They responded quickly via WhatsApp and I was able to customize the tour to fit my exact needs. It’s a great way to see the entire island from the coast.
